A Pajama Party!

We went up to Minnesota for my neice, Linnea's 4th birthday party. It was a pajama party and was so cute. Annika and Kiersten love going to see their cousins!

Here's the Birthday girl
I got to make her cake which turned out pretty cute...if I say so myself.
Complete with teddybears and marshmallow pillows. Don't look too closely at the frosting though...I did that at about 12:30pm and was so mad that I couldn't get it smooth. If I ever do this again, I will take off the thin chocolate on the swiss cake rolls I used for their bodies because the frosting was NOT sticking to it but it was too late to turn back!

Happy Valentines Day!

Our Valentine's Day consisted on rearranging our ENTIRE upstairs! We moved all three bedrooms. So romantic!

Kiersten and Annika moved into a room together. They now share the master bedroom.
Craig and I now have Kiersten's room.
Annika's room is now Craig's office...that's right, after a year of officing out of the closet, Craig has a room again! I guess that was a Valentine's present for Craig!

Annika's Nighttime Adventures

I put Annika to bed and went upstairs well over an hour later to find her like this. She had been dressing herself in the dark (obviously)! She was so proud of herself and was so hilarious looking that I couldn't get mad...instead I grabbed the camera to document!

When we stopped laughing and made her get back in bed....such the actress!

Kiersten's First Haircut

Kiersten had her first haircut. Well, not too much...just a little off the back to get rid of the mullet that was forming. It was a little crazy to get her not to move too much. She was being too entertained by Annika brushing her teeth! Here's the before:

Trying to get a lock for the baby book

And the after....

God and Hearts

Annika just moved up this month from the 2 year old Sunday School class to the 3 year old class. She's loving it so far. She's come home singing a song at the top of her lungs about how "our God is a great big guy". I think it's supposed to be "great big God" but she's dead set that it's "guy", so we go with it.

I've asked her about what she is learning and she just says, "Well, we just learn about God and hearts". Anything else? "Nope, just God and hearts. He has one and so do we. He knocks and says, 'hey, can I live in your heart', so I said okay. So now he's in my chest." She's still got a bit to learn and understand, but how cool to have a foundation beginning. I'm really thankful for our church here.

Christmas Eve Tea Party

With the whole Foote side of the family in Ames for Christmas, we needed to plan a few things outside of my parents 3 bedroom townhouse! We took the girl cousins over to our good friend, Diane's house for a special Christmas Eve tea party, complete with hot chocolate with LOTS of whipped cream. Diane had a room and table all decorated up (as she does best) for the event. The girls all got dressed in their Christmas dresses and sat at the little girl table and ate cookies and drank hot chocolate to their heart's content. They all absolutely loved it. It was a very cute site to see.

Papa's Surprise Visit

Craig's dad called us and asked how far it was from St. Cloud, MN to Ames. Craig said about 4 1/2 or 5 hours. So...in 4 1/2 or 5 hours we had a visit from him. Just a few days before Christmas, in time to deliver the Christmas presents in person. He got to our house at 9:30pm, went to a movie with Craig that night, spent the night, went sledding with Annika, hit up Hickory Park for lunch and then left by 1pm to drive the 7 hour drive back home. Short trip, but everyone loved it.
